We are all living through some very difficult and uncertain times, and our brothers and sisters in the Diocese of Mitu, Our Lady of Medjugorje Parish, are no different, and have been hit very hard by the Corona Virus (due to their very low resistance to viruses in general). That being said, we continue to be faithful to our pledge to build a new parish center in Colombia.
Following is our latest update:
The construction on the parish center/rectory for Our Lady of Medjugorje was halted on March 22nd due to Covid-19 but work is scheduled to resume around September 1, 2020, at the earliest.
Our fundraising continues to be strong and parishioners are being loyal to their pledges (see monthly chart below). Of the $76,000 in combined pledges, we have so far collected over $34,000 during our first year! If we continue to remain faithful to this work, we should reach our monetary goal well prior to the three-year mark!
As always, your conviction to this cause and your steadfast generosity remains critical to the success of our mission.
