We are excited to announce that Good Shepherd has a brand new kitchen to enjoy. Last summer, a 32-hour rainstorm caused significant damage to our kitchen, rendering it unusable. We were able to submit an insurance claim to cover the cost of the damages, and over the last several months a team of volunteers at our parish took the lead in coordinating our rebuilding efforts. The entire kitchen was gutted down to the studs and the work began from scratch. Efforts included securing vendors, purchasing and installing new appliances, updating electrical work, and doing some repair work of our own. Others donated additional funds or items. We are so blessed for the many contributions made by our parish volunteers, and the beautiful work performed through our vendors.
Going forward, we look to enjoy more meals cooked in this kitchen, from Men’s Breakfast to Parish dinners. Several of our parishioners will be receiving SafeServ certification this summer so that we meet the requirements from the Board of Health. Starting this Sunday we will also reconvene the tradition of coffee and donuts after Mass.
